This is my take on Andy’s palm boxes.

pics 1 and 6 are cherry and bloodwood and was my wife’s birthday gift
pic 2 is zebra and wenge and I claimed this one as mine
pic 3 is wenge and purpleheart. My wife gave this one as a remembrance box for a coworker who lost her twin brother last year.
pic 4 is walnut and bloodwood. This became a birthday gift for my father n law.
pic 5 is maple and walnut and is about to be sent as a thank you gift to the man who help mold my love for this craft, my old boss and mentor.

I started of with Andy’s basic design for the palm boxes and added the texture to give them a little something. I have several more in progress. I find they are easy and quick to make except for the sanding. I normally hate sanding but have found that with these boxes it is where I really become one with them and have learned to enjoy the process. I am pretty sure the whole family and many friends will have one of these by the time they have another birthday. Thanks for taking a look

Great job on the boxes and generosity of giving as gifts. Giving always makes us feel good. I am glad you enjoy the sanding. It always reflects in a person’s finished project.

Have your say...
