Here is a buffet I built for my wife a few years back. It is a scaled down version from a Wood Magazine plan. If I had to do it all over again, I would have used QS White Oak and a stain that didn’t contrast the grain so much.

It’s beautiful the way it is. Besides, we can’t all be brilliant all the time… and you could refinish in order to obscure the grain. I suggest filling the pores as well. Good luck.
