I had a piece of wood giving to me by a fellow wood turner and I’m not sure what it was. I think it is Sycamore but not 100% sure. I wanted to turn a bowl with a foot on it and tried it out. Sanded to 400 and finished with Myland’s Friction Polish. I think it turned out pretty good. Let me know what ya’ll think.

I love the way the wood swirls toward the bottom of the bowl. Did you remove the bark before turning?

When I got the wood, it already had the bark taken off. I have 2 more Sycamore blanks and the bark was splitting from the wood so I just sanded the edges to make it smooth.
