I made this box using many ideas I have seen on LJ. The box itself is 5”x3”x3” made from walnut and maple splines, the inner box is purple heart and the lid is sycamore veneer, and the bottom is lined with somekind of fabric. Thank you Brit box maker for the lid idea and everyone else for the general info you have given me. Comments are welcome, especially constructive critiques

Nice Box, I like Your lid design, inner lining, and overall look. Each box will reveal new challenges, opportunities to learn, and reward You and others with something beautiful, that will stand the test of time, Your doing very well, thanks for sharing

Nice job on the miters and splines. Well done. I’m curious, did you use a buffing wheel on it to get that finish?

very nicely done. Like the wood combinations. good idea to use the box for learning and then come out with excellent creation.
