I built this desk for a lady who works for a cerebral palsy support center here in Rochester NY. I volunteer at their adaptive workshop once a week where we design and build various wooden assistive devices to help their clients adapt to their disabilities. This particular desk had to have a single lock to secure the upper drawer as well as the lower file drawer. I solved the problem by placing a 90 degree cabinet lock in the rail between the 2 drawers. Fabbed a swing lever that entered a slot in each drawer when the key rotated. Nice, simple solution. The customer seemed very pleased with the final product. I of course felt very good as somebody who could be on the giving end of this project.
