Great use of “trash”. This is a win-win situation for all involved . You kept usable material from going to the landfill and you got a gorgeous clock from someone else’s “trash”. This is a very interesting clock.
Do you have any idea what wood it is. I really can’t tell from the picture but it has a lot of character.

Looks really nice, Hap. I do some Cypress clocks as well. What did you use for a finish? I use a 2 part epoxy. I like the fact that you re-purpose something that would otherwise have just been landfill material.
