carved from pine the majority of the stock was removed using a chain saw and the details were done with several gouges. in the bottom i drilled a large hole almost all the way through the center along with several smaller holes around it to prevent the green wood from cracking as it dries. the orange coloring is minwax colonial maple wood stain stem is a seperate removable piece

This is really great work! At first I thought it might have been turned on a lathe, but hand-carving gives it a terrific realistic look. will you be ‘carving’ it further, into a jack-o-lantern come Halloween! Fine work, thanks for posting!
