I guess this can be called my first commission piece.
During a trip to the BORG a few weeks ago, I brought my 6yo son with me. He saw a picture of a doll house while we walked the lumber aisles and told me his Appa (the big stuffed animal at the bottom) needs a house. I bought the wood and gave him paper to draw the plans.
The result was a simple one-bedroom/one-bath house for a giant flying bison.
It is made from paint grade maple plywood, and fir ply for the roof. The second floor is dadoed in place as is the dividing wall. I used a lock joint for the exterior walls and main floor. I was planning on adding working door, but the architect told be they weren’t needed. The colours were chosen by my son, and the whole family spent an evening painting it. It’s painted in guache and acrylic.
It is about 36”x12” and 30”-ish tall.
