These two tables have stood the test of time. A friend & I made them over 30 years ago (that gives my age away some). The are solid teak sides & legs with a particle board bed and tiled top. The grout was a two pack epoxy mix that has lasted really well. The joints are dowelled and the glue was araldite (a 2 part epoxy). Today I would probably use mortise & tenon joinery but it just goes to show that dowelling can last the time even on an oily dense wood like teak.

Grumpy, this is a nice table. Its longevity speaks volumes for the craftmanship that went into the construction.

Super job, Grumpy. They will last many more years, because of the way you built them. They are attractive and durable. Nice work!

These are great, Grumpy. And to think you built them when you were 6 years old!

Thanks for the comments Jocks. Charlie I am afraid you got my age wrong, I was only one year old.

Good looking table Grumpy – It should last for several more generations.

Nice tables and there is a very distinct satisfaction from seeing your work stand up to time.

Can’t beat that for longevity.

Very nice!
