We were in Amish country last summer and I got the idea from visiting a few hand crafted furniture shops. The pegs on the bottom are designed to hold small quilts. I made this out of one piece of blue pine; the blue stain is wood burned to give the piece some more contrast. I finished the piece with a mahogany minwax stain and coated the piece with minwax water based polycrylic satin finish.
