I found this old sewing machine table in the garbage. It was missing a leg and the sewing machine itself didn’t work. Turns out it was about the perfect size to go under my bathroom sink which had been vanity less. I added a new leg (just a regular stair railing spindle from HD) cut the legs down 3/8” to make the cabinet the right height. Then I cut out spaces fro the pipes and basin. Sanded it all down and painted it with the same color as I did on the walls. Finished with a polyurethane and mounted in place.

I actually first finished it with a polyurethane that yellowed when it was put on light colored finishes. I went away on vacation and came home freaking out that the sun (in my basement???) had faded it somehow in 2 weeks. Turns out I need to be a better reader when buying my finishes. Regardless just a bit of sanding some new paint and a final coat with the correct polyurethane.

The middle is a false drawer and the side is actually a door with some shelves inside that we use for things like baby powder, mouthwash, contact solution, etc.

Very easy project for anyone who wants an easy quick fix to not having a bathroom vanity.
