this is my entry for the not just any box contest. Its a breadbox made from cherry 2×4. it measures 16” wide 13.5” deep and 14” tall.

Very intelligent idea. But you lost out on the shop time it would have taken to make two projects. Seriously though this is a great idea and excellent use of your time.

What finish did you use on the piece?

thank you for all the nice coments. the finish is shellac and the tambour door is done with small box hinges. 40 of them. I would have used cloth but i think it would have been breaking the rules in the 2×4 contest.
