Project Information

this project was done entirely without power tools all the wood was split from green logs. the legs, spindles and outer contours of the seat were shaped with a hatchet, draw knife and spoke shave. the hollow of the seat was done with a #8 gouge and smoothed with a curved scraper. the holes were made with a 1" auger and all joints fastened with maple wedges. after the wood was dry it was finished with tung oil

Neat little stool. would be useful in my shop. Hard for me to squat.

Very nice.
Just trying to get my head around the order of assembly. Did you put the cross pieces on first and then put the seat down (the angles might have prevented this) - or did they both have to happen together for it all to pull together nicely
