different take on palm boxes

made these 2 little boxes recently both are made from a fir 2×4 from home depot (last pic) the darker box is finished with shellac and wax and the lighter one is poly and wax

i wanted to make a palm box like andy’s but wanted it to be a little different so these have a sliding lid. there is a small brass pin on the under side of the lid for a slide stop

OK ~ Who is the little guy you got to go inside of the box, to put the brass pin on the underside for a slide stop? Beautiful!

David, nice catch on that! it was actually pretty easy. all i did was after figuring out where to put the stop was i drilled the hole in the lid to fit the brass pin and then put the lid on and there is just barely enough room to slip my fingers inside the box and put the pin in the hole. i just put some super glue on the pin and it works perfect
