I got the wood for this table from a guy I used to work with. It was a solid cherry glue- up panel. It was rejected at the factory where he worked and got it from because of the striking dark strip going through the middle of it. What is the dark, the heart or sap wood? I always forget. So, I gladly took it. It sat in my house for a couple years until I finally decided to chop it to bits! After severe choppage a table of this very design emerged and it was good. Now it has been sitting in the guest bedroom for the last couple of years, lol. It actually was meant to have three legs, not two legs and a foot. But, seeing that I highly lack awesome toolage, I messed up the third leg. I was mad. So I got this quirky yet not unrealistic idea to scrap the third leg, make it into a foot instead and therefore giving it an artsy look that I very much desired anyway! I put past wax on this piece. Not good idea, thejosh. Maybe next time I put poly.

So after replying to your comments, I decided to check out your work…nice cherry table! You did a great job of “saving” the piece and it turned out terrific. I also liked the table you recently showed…I just finished a similiar design for my wife’s entrance way at her business. Keep up the great work.
