Router Plane & Accessory Storage/stand

Well…. it has been raining in Ottawa (and Orleans) the last few days and it is going to continue for at least another week. So, something to do to relieve the boredom. Clearly desperation has set in as I have made a router plane and accessory storage stand. On the other hand it does keep these related goodies in one place.

The planes are retained by thumb screws fastened into insert nuts screwed into the cherry platform.

Anyone else in the world climate challenged??

That’s a neat caddy Don, I like it a lot.

Thanks guys – it does work and it was a fun time making it out of scrap without a plan.

It is just as bad here in Detroit which is driving me to build a thin strip ripping jig! Nice layout and execution.

Nicely done, did you grind those smaller blades yourself or did you find someone that sells them?

Thanks Bob – look forward to seeing your ripping jig.

Hi Devin, thanks for looking. The smaller blades are now available from Lee Valley and are on introductory special of $10.00 each (Canadian)

Hi Don;

Sounds kind of like your’re all dressed up with nowhere to go.

Nice setup. I like when things are both organized and well protected from getting banged around in a drawer somewhere.

Hi Lee

Yeah – you got it. I am waiting for some lumber to acclimatize for my next project, it has been raining for weeks with no end in sight so gardening is waiting, boat commissioning is waiting… and I am waiting. So I am doing all sorts of odd things to improve (hopefully) the shop experience and using up some of my precision cut-off collection as well.

Hope all is well with you.;

Don
