I think i just used butt joints…...did he just say butt? Anyway, I used butt joints…..did he just say joints? Before I was rudely interrupted I was saying that I used butt joints for this box that was composed out of solid walnut scrap pieces that I gathered from work. I wanted a finer look for this one so I used an antique finial for the hardware. I made sure I used some elbow grease while sanding this one so as to give it a really nice appearance. I lined it with jewelry box lining that I also got from work that I saw in the dumpster out back. And it was still usable…..well, sort of. I used a satin polyurethane for the finish. This is one of my favorite boxes because it cleaned up quite nicely.

If i read your description, i would never imagine that you were describing the jewel of an artwork pictured here. That is exquisite.

Arty, different, well made (did he say butt joints?) and most importantly very beautiful. I especially liked the asymmetrical design.
