Here is my version of a Stickley drink stand. It is constructed out of African Mahogany and finished with spar varnish in a wiping recipe.
Now that it’s completed I see that it really needs to be sitting beside a Morris chair. Hmmmmm

nice project, Jeff….how did the wiping varnish recipe go on? What proportions did you use?

It is spectacular! I absolutely love the dimensions. The mahogany must have been a joy to work with. I usually like massive, hefty, non-delicate pieces but this one is making my change my opinion. I thank you for that.

Looks like it needs a tumbler with three fingers of single-malt scotch sitting on it. Of course, there will be no more woodworking going on after that…

Thanks for all the kind comments.
Allan the wiping varnish went on really nice but seemed to take forever to dry. I used equal parts McClosky spar varnish, Danish oil and mineral spirits.
AtomJack, I thought that very thing.
