Lightly commissioned box of coasters made for my wife’s friend. Box and base and drawer veneer are walnut. Man, I love me some walnut! Coasters were made from blue pine/beetle kill pine and spalted poplar, though you cannot see them here. I got the white stain and the clear coat finish from the city dump…..for free. Gotta love it. The wood is all scrap and I aint paid a dime for it. That’s how I roll, though.

Sorry, Brad Ford, I, for some reason, only took one pick of this coaster set. I SHOULD have taken pics of the spalted poplar, though. That was some awesome wood. I got it off a pallet at Sears where I used to work. I do have a box that I made from the same boards that I’ll have to post so yous can see the wood.
