May, 2011—This is a glue-up of some lumber from some pallets. There are two boxes here. As you can see in the last two photos, the smaller box is made from a cut-off from the larger box. These are fun to make.

The tall box is designed with some whimsy in mind. In other words, nothing in particular, except to cut around blemishes in the pallet lumber. :-) Also, the drawer in the tall box has a hidden drawer in the back of it. I think this is only the second “secret drawer” I have made, and I am happy how this turned out.

Both are stained with a light brown stain called, I think, “tumbleweed.” It’s an oil-base stain I got at a close out sale. (It is not Minwax brand.) I rubbed on satin poly.

Not bad for pallets.

Hard to believe the wood started off as pallet wood. These pieces turned out great.

Good job. The smaller box is particularly attractive. Then again- I like small objects.
