Finally got around to making some cutting boards, after my friend and fellow Lumberjock Tommy did his first set. Idid the “drunken” style. I was making this for a birthday gift for the lady who works for me, and when my wife saw and liked them she said “make some more for our moms for Mothers Day”, and so of course the wife got one too, and that rounded out the recipients of my first four cutting boards. The first 2 were walnut and cherry, with a simple roundover on top, and the net two were paudauk and cherry, with a deeper roundover that left a raised edge. i should know what to call that, but my brain isn’t cooperating! Help! I put rubber feet on them to raise them up, and finished them with salad bowl finish. I LOVE the color of the paudauk! This was my fist project using that wood, but won’t be the last. The last picture is of my mom holding hers up. Thanks for looking.
