Looked at all four I saw posted. My first thought was, someone made bases for taxidermy work, then it hit me! These are fantastic!
Almost forgot, WELCOME TO LJ'S!

it is oh, so perfect! Those are really beautiful! I did a fish to put on a reclaimed chair for my Dad's house, but it was hard, because i don't look at them much, and it came out nowhere near resembling one of your wooden clones!
Fishing was always something my Dad took me to do to be nice, or get me out of my mother's hair or something -grew to despise it cause i always wanted to get in the water or eat the corn, or not get hooked in the neck!

That looks like something that takes my fly all summer long on the Weber River.
Stunning reality. After seeing where you are located, you probably fly-fish a lot of the rivers I do.
Very nice work.

Thanks guys!!
Bruce, cant remember the last time i went fishing, guess it was 2001 in west yellow stone, never really had
much luck catching fish, so it is easier to just carve the size of the one that got away ;>)))
Christine i know what you mean, i had a hook in my hand when i was about 10 years old, i didn't say anything until i got home, my dad had to cut one end off and pull it out the other side, didn't care much for fishing after that

Beautiful
I need one for an urn for when my dog dies . Was thinking of a pumpkinseed sunfish, needs to hold a cup of ashes. Where are you getting your fish layouts, free hand?
