Boxes Collection

This 3 box collection was inspired by the pieces of wood that I’d been saving to use for box tops. Both the walnut and cherry pieces contained knots that I stabilized with doses of C/A glue before finish was applied. The small box top was made from walnut with a shimmering figure and was accented with maple and purple heart. The box bottoms were made from mahogany. 2 were lined with felt and one with purple heart. The finish was 2-3 coats of minwax water-based poly.
I give thanks to Ellen 35 for artistic inspiration. Thanks for looking and comments are welcome

I’ve seen these boxes in person… the photos don’t do them justice. The chatoyance on all three covers is spectacular! The knots just pop (no pun intended)
Nice work Lorna.

Wonderful pieces Lorna and beautiful wood. I am partial to the cherry top. I love the wavy grain.

Lorna, you did a very nice job on these boxes – they look great.
