Made this table to my friend’s specs on height, etc. Oak ply and Maple edging. The recessed top is covered in a sheet of heavy rubber material. Holds water, towels etc. in his workout room. Tall enough to reach water and TV remote from treadmill. Dado joinery, glue, brads. Thanks for checkin’ it out. Its about 46” tall if I recall, and the top around 16×22 or so.
Finish is semi-gloss black paint (Krylon or similar) – not my choice for finish. He wanted all black but I decided to leave the edging natural (just some Danish oil to protect it) for some visual interest.

That’s a pretty good piece to be living next to some guy’s treadmill. I agree with you that painting it was a bad thing but it wasn’t for you or me. At least you were able to leave the natural edges and give the table something to stand out. Good project and good luck.
