I am working on a collection of animal trivet hot plates and cutting boards to sell to people. I will have a squirrel & and a acorn nut trivet hot plate coming soon. and much more. So far I have a pig trivet hot plate and cutting board and a chicken trivet hot plate and a mushroom trivet hot plate and a mushroom cutting board. I use my mushroom cutting board allot that I made for my own use. I love the stem as a handle to pick it up with and scrape the onions or bell peppers in to the frying pan after cutting them up.

I made a thin temp plate of the shape of the animal. I trace around the template on the board . I riped on the table saw the board with the pattern of the animal on it . I had the blade set for half way through the board so when you turn the board over and rip the board the other way it gives it the trivet efect. Then I take the board and cut out the animal with my scroll saw . I sand each edge with my dremal with the drum sander bit on it on level 4 for speed. I do a light sanding so the edges are soft on the animal trivets. Thanks for looking at my work. Jeff M.
