This solid maple workbench is based on plans from “Woodsmith” Vol.29/No. 173
I did modify the plans as my shop would not accommodate a 6 foot long bench. I shortened it by 12 inches.
I did not build the shelf from the plans. I did not want open storage. I will be adding drawers and shelves to finish the project.
I did finish the base with 3 coats of satin poly urethane varnish. The top is finished with their suggested beeswax, turpentine and boiled linseed oil.
I did not have a band-saw at the time of construction so I had to work around a couple of their suggestions for completing certain cuts.
I am very happy with the functionality of the bench and am anxious to build the cabinet in lieu of a shelf.

Hey Bob, Looking good. Whenever I see a solid well-built bench I “almost” get up the energy to build one myself.
GREAT JOB!!!!
