But Daddy, They do not have the color I want!

My daughter found this end table (picture #2) that she liked, but it only came in a black or white finish. It was a well build table, but she wanted a brown color. So this is my version of that table.

I went to the store and on line to get the measurements to build 2 end tables. The material is soft maple and the finish is sprayed lacquer in her custom color. Daughter is happy and Daddy is happy.

If you look in my projects, you will see the jig I made to flatten panels. This is the project it was made for. The only item that was a pain was the arched and lapped inserts for the sides. The lap joint was hand cut with a router.

Great job. That is a really cool design. I like your version better.

Although the second picture is not very clear I think yours looks much better than the one in the store. Yours looks to have a nicer finish and the top is really nice also. The store bought one seems to be all one color.

And if daddy can’t built it, the daughter will learn woodworking to do it herself ;)

Really nice piece.

Beautiful table! Your daughter has good taste and a terrific dad!
