This is the sewing centre I built for my girlfriend Debbie. She loves to sew and do all kinds of crafts but she had no were to do it. The main unit is a 60”x33”x20” vanity cabinet with a 22” x 8’ oak top.Second section is 24” x48” with a 8” w x36” h x48” L topper, also with a 24” x48’ oak top. It has a dried flower holder on theleft side and a peg board on the right for some of her tools. The unit also has built in lighting with three sets of vanity lights each set has own on/off switches and a power source totally self-contained. In case we would move the unit will go from a L shaped right L or a left L and also will turn into a 12’ inline unit. Also I built her a 24”x3 3” x48” potable Table that folds up, (seen in the middle) that she moves around to fit her craft needs its covered with plexi glass so when she cuts material she will not scratch it. Soon to add is another unit that will be 16” D x 33H x48”L with a 30”: x48” top, that will have two doors and 3 drawers for her scrapbooking supplies. Besides she surprised me witha 12”Craftsman bandsaw for Christmasas well as a 10” sliding compound miter saw

That is a seriously nice sewing station. I’ll bet she’s delighted. Sounds like you didn’t do too bad, either.

Excellent forethought! I like the idea that you’ve designed it to fit your next house, even though you’ve never seen it! This is a real nice work center for her and I’ll bet she loves it. Good job Alien!

Great job. I am glad to see that you “earned” some new tools for the project. Now you can do even more. One of the benefits of this hobby is the acquisition of new tools with which to do more projects which in turn fuel the need for more tools. a process that seemingly has no end.
Keep the postings coming.

very nice setup. That may get you a few more tools next time. It sure does look functional, and very nice as well. Good work.

Nice job. There are ceratin advantages to having your significant other being able to sew like curtains, mended pants, quilts but a fair warning.
I live in a big house that comes with a BIG basement. In one section of the basement there is more wool then all the sheep in this county could produce in a year. There is more fabric then the average fabric superstore and its like a desease…..........and it should be quarinteened otherwise it slowly consumes the whole house.
Do it now, otherwise it might be too late and your place might look like mine. Kitchen table gone, laundry room gone, dining room gone, ironing boards in the family room with small growth spuds, piles of fabric here and there that grow and spread.
Did I mention thread?...................enough here to map out the U.S.A. highway system in full scale.
On the odd occasion it can cause some friction. <g>
Nice Job
