Here is a plack I made for my shop I really enjoy it. I got the pattern from www.stevedgood.com. I believe it is poplar wood I tried to use oil on it and I don’t think the wood liked it to much.

Nice job. The cap on the fellas head ads a lot of character. Looks like poplar to me too.
