Man this has been a hard project to complete. The weather here in Ohio went from very cold to rain and then more rain. I put one light coat of sealer on it until I can take it outside and spray the finish on. This was my first attempt at a mortise and tenon joint. Didn’t come out too bad. I cut a slot on the back side of the rails and there is a medal clip that holds the top on. The top in the picture is actually the bottom of the top. I really like the spalted hickory.

Thanks for looking.

Looks great, interesting how the spalting matches the base

Oh yes,,,, I have the same problem too.
Rain, cold, rain and more rain, because I’m in Ohio too.
I painted outside this afternoon, and it rained in the evening.
Hope you finish the job soon.

I remember one year in early 1990’s, we had 120 wet days (rain, snow or hails)
out of 122 days (March 1 through June 30). Two days didn’t have
precipitation but cloudy.

Great job on the table, sorry to hear the weather has been giving you a hard time.
