The walking man was made for a bowl turning show as the center piece for all turners. I carved the legs out of splated pecan and attatched them to a walnut center structure to hold the legs and bowl. I then turned the bowl and cut the walnut pieces on top for a interesting top rim. The size is 65’’ high x 18’’ wide.

I think that someone with a more artistic leaning can find a lot of symbolism and meaning in this design,
but to an old woodworker it is a very good carving topped by a wonderful bowl, that has contrasting
wood handles and supports that make it look great. First time I noticed three handles on a bowl, makes
for a very interesting design. You make it looks so simple, but for anyone that has attempted this type
of work, it shows that you are a master woodworker. Thank you for sharing.

I really like it that you did not foot the other leg. Made all the difference. Great wood selection, too.
