I really liked the simplicity of this particular pattern. Sometimes these simple ones have more options of what can be done with them. I see this as a kitchen clock , except I am not into the clock thing, however I also see this as a segmentation pattern and finding different colors for the sun rays along with the possibility of making the rooster with many colored feathers. It’s been in the back of my mind as something I would like to try and probably will give it a shot one of these days.
The one rooster is made from a piece of pine set for the wood pile when my hubby noticed the colors. We were able to get a couple of pieces out of it for my use and loved it just the way it was/is, with the holes from grubs and all of it’s wonderful imperfection’s. The back is from what I was told is called a paper tree and this time I sprayed it with clear before finishing the project and it makes it much shinier, something I can’t quite decide if i like or not.
The other one is made out of plain ol’ pine and put in an already made frame I had.

Simple is nice. You’re quite right that simple leaves you a lot more options. These are actually quite nice.

Nice job Allison, simple but very attractive. My kitchen is full of chickens, and I could see this piece in there somewhere.
