Well here is my first cutting board. I really took the directions of bvdon and I think degoose’s design for their cutting boards. I learned a ton about how hard it is to get these things right. One of the juice grooves is about twice as wide as the others Because my router started to slip on the edge guide I have. It is now just wider to hold more juice from all the delicious food she is going to cut on it. I am going to try bvdon’s jig next time. I used walnut, yellow heart, purple heart, bloodwood, and cherry. I still have some sanding on the burn marks to do but it is mostly done. I made it for my for my mother-in-law because she cried when she saw the chess board I made for my dad. She thought it was so beautiful that she got tears in her eyes. I hope that this will make her ball and sobb from its beauty.

I call that groove a fortunate accident. VERY nice and love the photos showing how you made it happen. The joints look tight and this is really cool. Congrats on a great piece.

Thanks for sharing.

MiL should love it, better give her a box of Kleenex at the same time! Excellent build and thanks for the glue-up pics.

Great looking cutting board. I’d have to hang it on the wall and just look at it before I would ever cut anything on it. Looks too good to use.thanks for pics #2 & #3. Is that an XR sitting in the driveway on pic#2?

Stunning.
She’s going to love it, but she won’t ever cut on it.

Very nice job! I can predict that she will want to display this one and you’ll have to make her another! Just remember, there are no mistakes in woodworking—only design opportunities!

That is really eye catching. Great work, especially for a first go. And the juice groove—that is just a creative design feature. I have those in all of my work.
