My daughter got this cradle for her first child 40 years ago. The stand was lost in a move. Took the cradle all apart and took it down to bare wood. Build a new stand. luckily spokes were not glued so just chucked them in the lathe and sanded them down. Marie did the fine tune sanding and finished with stain/varnish. (3 coats) New wood is white pine and she matched the cradle well. Used all s/s hardware. Now all they need to do is add BABY which will be added in June by first born that used it for his son. (my G/G son). He is tickled.

Congratulations on the family addition. The cradle will go on a a family heirloom. They will tell the stories and cherish it for many more generations.
