These are one of my favorite projects to make. When I don’t have any other projects to make I am ether making these or my boxes. In the first picture it shows the different kind of woods I have made them out of. the one on the left is made out of some of my dad’s reclaimed Douglas fir barn wood. The one in the middle is made out of some Brazilian Cherry that I got an awesome deal on, & the one on the right is made out of maple. We took a picture of me sitting in one just to give you an idea of the scale of one.

Great work! Very nice chairs. You need to ‘blog’ this project and share it with us!

Glad you sat in on the second picture to give an idea of scale. When I looked at the first picture, I thought, I will never fit my hammer into that. They are one fine big stool – I love them. I too would also be interested in a plan.

I dont have any plans.I took pictures of a chair I saw at a horseshow, measured parts, improved the design, and started building them.As many of you know,I dont have a camera and wouldnt know how to post pics if I did.My LJ buddy posts everything for me.Ill ask Kenny if we can come up with something.I started building these because they are the most comfortable thing I have ever sat on.The only chairs that dont hurt my back.

Those are some nice looking chairs doc. I’d like to make one that would hold my fishing pole. My luck, when I got up for a minute the fish would bite and pull my chair into the water.
