Busy in the shed making candle holders !!
Made this for a friend that needs spiriting up !!
Young mum with cancer !!!
The smile on her face when i gave it to her ! was fantastic !!! :)
Mystical : did the trick !!
Timber : Mountin Ash
I have been experimenting different finishing techniques !!
I achieved this result via
- Oak Stain
- Sand back
- Apply Acylic art paint via damp cloth
- Spray Laquer Gloss
You Know ! as Woodworker, I am sometimes selfish with my time in the shed (away from my wife )
But this was time spent for someone that needed a lift !
So time well spent !
Have a great day
Anthony

Nice gift, I like the finish as I’m a big fan of Purple heart and thats what the first one kind of looks like.

Anthony, it looks like you have gone into full production mode on these candle holders! What you did with this one is a wonderful idea since these projects make nice gifts that are always well received.

I like the fact that you used the cracked wood. It looks nice and you’ll never see another one just like it. Your finishing sounds similar to Trifern’s technique.

I really like how the dark colors are mixed into the top. Gives it a whole new look. Great job.
