This is a jewelry box I made for my sister n law for Christmas. Made of curly maple and Cherry with dovetail joints. I used navy blue felt for the liner.

-- I did measure it twice, it's still too short.

thanks for the input!

@Chuck, I got the chain at Home Depot. the big boxes have chain and rope by the foot. I picked the smallest gold colored chain they carry and attached it to the box with small brass screws and washers. Michaels (or craft stores) has chains, but you have to be careful that the chain is heavy enough to hold the weight of the lid.

I really love the wood and how you made the box. The hasp does not quite look good enough for the box.
