I made these out of what I call “pallet wood”. I like taking apart pallets, planing them down and then making something out of them. Only problem is when I miss a nail and plane it! That gets expensive.

Praying for a particular mail? :)

Yay for pallet wood! Did you consider building a drum sander to avoid the risk of the nails with that kind of recycled wood?

Nice work Dan – I see you like to scrollsaw. That is a good thing. I’ve been scrolling for about 9 years and love it because I consider it to be good therapy ( and God knows I need lots of therapy). Unlike you, I started with bigger works so I could hide my mistakes. And unlike you, I used good quality clean stock to help avoid the breakage you experienced. Heck, even with clean stock and 9 years experience, I still have breakage. Being a retired Teamster (local truck driver), I know pallet wood all to well. It’s loaded with stress point that would snap when stepped on. So good work Dan!
