As I was waiting for the glue to dry on my next project, I went over to my scrap pile and found a piece of tulipwood (1-1/2×1-1/2×6”). I Drilled a 3/4 Dia hole about 5” deep. Then cut two curved sides on the bandsaw, then taped the cut pieces back to the tulipwood block and cut the two opposite sides. Removed the tape, sanded and put on a coat of Salad bowl finish. Put a test tube in with a single rose and I had an Easter gift for my wife.

Thanks for sharing. I like the compound cut you did. I hope you don’t mind but this is one I would like to do on my scroll saw. This would make a wonderful mothers day gift with flowers in it. Take care Jeff M.

Hey Don, nice job, you could have a lot of fun with this design, maybe call it the “see thru” series.
simple but different, I like it
