1st time I used a dado box joint blade. Took awhile to set up so not to have tear out on the back side of wood, but got alot of good tips form LumerJocks and finally got some good cuts. Oak with 1/8 in cherry in middle of top.Tung oil finish.

Nice box joints! Oak is not the easiest wood to work with. Congrats. I made my first box joints too not long ago. Fun to do and its such a strong joint.

Nice box, especially for a first, box joints can be lots of fun to do and use for boxes, yes tear out can be a problem without sacrificial backing boards, there are so many ways to make box joints, looks like You are on a good start, thanks for sharing
