this hopechest came along from a request by my wife’s cousin, because she saw the one i had made for my wife when we first started dating so i promised i would get it done for her. there are several differences the first and most ovious one is the one that now i have more experience and have a more profound knowledge of different techniques, but the latter one has dovetail joints compared to the box joints on my wife’s. also rounded edges on the corners of the lid for safety reasons considering that she has kids. and last hers has a bit lighter tint on her stain and several coats of clear.

That is a nice looking family you have. I almost didn’t notice the chest. It looks good as well.

I am surprised that you got them to stay still long enough to take the picture. But I guess the novelty of the box was enough to keep them there long enough to snap off a quick picture.
