LJ seems slow tonight, so I’ll contribute a micro-project!
A friend of mine found out her parents put down the dog she grew up with.. Having gone through this myself two weeks ago, I was sympathetic when she told me about what she wanted to give her parents.
The plan is that her dad will paint it once she gives it to them, but she needed someone to cut out the piece. I started with a picture, outlined it, printed it up, and attached it with some light spray adhesive on to an aspen panel (thanks jocks for the advice in my forum post!). Cutting it out was pretty straight forward and my new Rikon 1” belt/5” disk sander made quick work of knocking down the blade marks. A quick wipe with 220 got rid of any thready bits.
Total time was about an hour and a half and the piece is just under 18” long.
