Pool Cue Holder

I actually built this pool cue holder last year after we got our pool table. It holds six cues (or cue-like objects) with recessed holes for the cues on the bottom shelf, and a recess for the chalk on the top. There’s also a couple of grooves where the balls can sit when you aren’t playing. In the center there is a small drawer for things like extra chalk, extra tips, and a brush for the table.

It’s made entirely from pine, except for the drawer, which is made out of some mystery wood I salvaged from a pallet. The joinery is mostly done with dowels, since that was the only joint I knew how to do at the time. It’s finished with Polycrilic. Since this was one of my first projects, the top is all glued together, then glued to a piece of plywood on the bottom. I know (now – I was blissfully unaware at the time) that this is probably going to cause some problems with seasonal changes, but over the past year there haven’t been any. I’ll keep my fingers crossed. If it breaks, I’ll just get to build another one!

Thanks for looking, please leave me your thoughts.
