This is my latest project. My best friend drove 200 miles to bring me a cherry log. I had to build a sled & outfeed table to resaw it. Imagine my disappointment when I wawed into it and found it had been invaded by carpenter ants. I decided to go ahead and make something out of it & this is what I came up with. It measures 37” long x 15” wide x 18” tall. It is finished with linseed oil.

Between you and the carpenter ants, a mighty fine table came about.

Love it. Your table reminds me of the one Div made and posted recently. Nice work!

What a great table. There was a time when this would have not been accecpted with the general public. People at one time wanted perfect wood, no knots ect ect. No it’s the rave and the more character you have the better. Well done.

What I like about it is the contrasting harmony between the rough natural edges and that mirror smooth finish on the top of it. It’s that balance that really sets it off.

Perfect wood that the public wants at time can be so boring.

This piece would look great in my living room.

I love the simple, pure rustic look that this table has. Personally, I think the carpenter ants did a fantastic job! Your input is pretty gnarly too!
