This is the second bowl which was turned green 17 years ago by a friend and given to me to re-turn and finish. Again I added a rim of unknown timber and a slim line made of ebony sanding dust mixed with PVA and applied into thin groove I made by thin parting tool, (photo5). Finished with sanding sealer and EEE.
WHO said pine was not good for turning!!

Another fine piece Sam. That Pine, like fine wine has gotten better with age.

Nice work. Isn’t it amazing how great plain woods look after they’re turned on a lathe? Beautiful!!!

Sam, good to see this piece of pine finally get it’s day in the sun, classic example of “not the material but rather what / who does what with it”
Bet your friend can believe its the same piece of wood :))

Nothing wrong with pine Sam. It’s good to learn on as well.
