This is my Second Bowed Psaltery. It is made out of Purpleheart, layed with Western Red Cedar I got from a retired guitar maker in Nashville.

How is this instrument played? On the lap? It’s really beautiful!

To play the bowed psaltrey; you place your hand under the top narrow end and with the bow in your other hand you stroke the strings between the pins. the sound is amazing. If you do a google search, you will find video’s of people playing them.
