This is a three drawer bandsaw box made from honduras mahogany. I bought a 2” by 10 foot piece of mahogany at Condon Lumber in North White Plains, NY. Great place for wood. I had them cut it into 12” boards. Now I can laminate 2 boards and have a perfect blank for a lot of my bandsaw projects. I did the same with a cherry board. I figure that I use about $12 worth of wood for each project. The mahogany cuts well but leaves a lot of stringy residue. It sands easily. The Cherry cuts much more neatly and crisply.

These two designs are from Lois Ventura’s book “Sculpted band saw boxes”. It has great designs. Eventually I’ll develop my own.
You can buy the book at:

@gearhead4——Thanks for the added info, that’s great to get so much info from one site from so many nice woodworkers like Yourself. I’ll keep that info for the future, I have not yet tried any bandsaw boxes, but, they are on my “to do in the future list” , thanks again
