My latest creation for cats. The “hollow hideout”. The hollow log is crab apple on all three, legs are black locust and cherry, other sticks are oak, maple and pear. Our cat loves them

Very cool, I bet your cat does love them! As a matter of fact I bought my cats one like these in Tenn. Looking at the very fine work in the man’s shop is partly what led me to love rustic furniture, and to want to try and do some myself. i think it’s a great and creative way to use hollow logs. The one you have with the flat perch is my favorite. I’m glad someone else spoils their cats! lol

LOL! Ya gotta LOVE it! : ) I just looked at your home page, and I realized YOU’RE the guy I bought the cat cubby from – LOL. You don’t remember me I’m sure, but after we loaded it in my friend’s convertible, I asked you to come out and sign it! You really inspired me with your fine work – I still think about those chairs in your store all the time. I’m so glad to see you here. BTW, my cats fuss constantly over who’s going to get to sit on top of the cubby, it’s next to my chair and they love being able to sit up high next to me like that. I love how it looks in my place…

HA! This is so totally cool!!! A rustic cathouse! What is the diameter of the log? I am trying to figure out if it would fit in a house or if it is more of a yard toy. And Vasko, isn’t it amazing how small the world can be?

Yes, rivergirl, it is amazing! I can tell you mine stands (on smaller feet that are almost directly under the log) 22” high, and is approx. 24” long…I like the way you called it a rustic cathouse. Since I’m in love with rustic design, it seems natural in retrospect that I should buy a rustic cathouse for my pets – lol

I agree, the cathouse is totally cool. And only on LumberJocks could a couple of ladies talk about cathouses and still be rated PG < BIG GRIN >
