After looking at YouTube videos, reading forums and looking at step-by-step directions that people had posted on the internet, then trying it for myself and messing a few up I finally finished one. Got it down now. The pen is a comfort pen kit from Penn State Industries. The blank is walnut with a maple celtic knot. Sanded to 600 grit the CA finish, sanded with 1000 grit then 4 coats of hut wax. I really enjoyed doing this pen and seem to get a bit of a “wow” factor from people when they see it and a bunch of “how did you do that”. I will be making more of these with different kits. I will be posting more “knot” pens up here in the near future.

This is one that I watched, I heard of this kid in a magazine that is making pens to pay for college. This one is of him making the celtic knot. Click http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9uQv5sKibk. I also googled directions to make a celtic knot and a hundred links came up, just look through them and read and by the time your eyes want to pop out of your head, go to the shop and see if you can make one. If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask me.
