This seems like a suitable post seeing as how we are coming up on Easter.
This is a mosaic wall hanging I made for my mother last mothers day. I used a 16 inch square piece of 1/4 in MDF as a backer. The inlayed pieces are 3/8 thick. The sky, including the angled (lightening strike), is all poplar. The ground, which I tried to make look like a hill, is walnut. The two crosses on the sides are alder and the center cross is aspen. The frame is mahogany which I bullnosed the front of and dadoed the rear to inclose the backer and the inlay. Mother loved it and showed it off to all her lady friends at church. Who knows, maybe this year she’ll get a “Andy inspired” palm box. I give God the glory for the ability to create this piece and also the glory for what took place on that hill!
